Fiona Smith is an environmental planner in the Environment and Heritage Division of Parks Victoria. Fiona is currently working on planning for the establishment of the Western Grassland Reserves, a new grassland park which will connect the You Yangs area to the Werribee River across the Volcanic Plains west of Melbourne.

My current role is working for Parks Victoria planning for the establishment of large grassland reserves just west of Melbourne. This involves identifying issues and management requirements such as weed control, fire management, monitoring and restoration.  I also provide advice in relation to the management of grasslands to other grassland managers, research scientists and government agencies. This is usually done through workshops, plans and advisory groups.
