Perennial. Grows via rhizomes and can resprout after fire. Can form colonies up to 10 m in diameter or more. Above ground stems may branch however flowering stems are unbranched.

Identifying Characteristics

Herb to 30 cm tall. Few fleshy leaves up to 4 cm long, held near the base of the plant. Flowers August-November.

Distinctive Features

Long 'candle' of densely packed cream to yellow coloured flowers.
