Identifying Characteristics

Tufted grass 0.6-1.5 cm tall. Leaf blades shiny, finely pointed, flat, often drooping. Flower heads 10-30 cm long and 7-13 cm wide, with spreading branches in whorls. Flowers August-November.

Distinctive Features

Leaf stems wiry and rigid. Flower heads contain whorls of flower clusters.
