Identifying Characteristics

An erect herb to 2 m. Leaves are sessile (without a stalk), opposite, and partly branch clasping. The inflorescence is a dense spike on a long branch. The corolla is blue, dark violet-blue or lavender-pink to 3.5 mm long. Flowers October-January.
