Annual or short lived perennial with a taproot. Can germinate at any time of the year. Grows quickly during summer. Can colonise bare areas and is drought tolerant once established. If growing conditions are poor the plant turns red.

Identifying Characteristics

A small low growing herb to 60 cm wide. Leaves blue-green, opposite, round to oblong, to 10 mm long and 5 mm wide. Pink-white flowers throughout the year.

Distinctive Features

Grows in a compact doily shape. When broken, the stems ooze a white sap.
