Identifying Characteristics

Small herb. The leaves, 4-10 cm long, grow from the base of the plant creating a rosette of silky soft leaves. A round flower head 3 cm across of bright blue flowers is held on an upright leafless, silvery stem. Flowers in spring.

Distinctive Features

Greyish silky leaves. Bright cornflower blue pincushion-like flower heads.
