A dense to loosely tufted perennial lily with mostly erect green leaves, closely sheathing at the base. Spreads readily via underground stems (rhizomes). The fruits are shiny dark-blue oval berries containing many black seeds.

Identifying Characteristics

Flower stem to 80 cm tall with numerous blue to violet flowers to 20 mm wide, with spreading to recurved perianth segments. Flowers September-December.
