Identifying Characteristics

Herb growing to 10 cm tall and up to 1 m wide. Leaves fern-like. Single, round flower heads of small green flowers held on a slender stem above the foliage. Flowers October-January.

Distinctive Features

Marble sized seed heads (burrs) with fine yellowish or reddish spines which readily attach to clothing or animal fur.
