Identifying Characteristics

A herb to 150 cm. Leaves usually lanceolate to oblanceolate to 30 cm long and 7 cm wide. Leaf margins are undulate, toothed and pungently spiny. Basal leaves sometimes rosetted, up to 25 cm long and 7 cm wide. Yellow flowers September-December.

Distinctive Features

This species is characterised by very spiny leaf margins and unwrinkled fruit.
