Predator-proof fence

A predator-proof exclusion fence is designed to be of a height and wire mesh design that foxes, wild dogs, feral cats and rabbits cannot jump, climb over or dig under.

Predator proof exclusion fences are expensive to build.

Any type of fence wears or becomes damaged over time.

Predator proof exclusion fences need to be regularly inspected so that any damage to the fence can be quickly repaired to make it predator proof again.

Foxes are considered to be one of the main causes of the extinction of native mammals such as the Eastern Barred Bandicoot in Victoria.

Control of predators is considered a key requirement for the successful reintroduction of Eastern Barred Bandicoots into native grassland reserves.
