Identifying Characteristics

Flower stem to 25 cm tall. May have up to five small white or pink flowers. Dorsal sepal to 5 mm, petals to 7 mm and lateral sepals very prominent to 15 mm long. A greenish labellum with reddish spots covered with small hairs. Flowers January-June.

Distinctive Features

The lateral sepals are well developed while the dorsal sepal and petals are small and narrow.

Grows in a variety of habitats including grasslands, woodlands, alpine areas and heathlands throughout Victoria, except the mallee. Also found in South Australia, Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and Queensland.
