Fiona Smith is an environmental planner in the Environment and Heritage Division of Parks Victoria. Fiona is currently working on planning for the establishment of the Western Grassland Reserves, a new grassland park which will connect the You Yangs area to the Werribee River across the Volcanic Plains west of Melbourne.

I studied zoology at University then started as a park ranger in a coastal environment. In 1998 I started working as a park ranger looking after grasslands, which I did for 10 years. I now work in a more environmental planning role for both the establishment of new grassland reserves and management of existing grassland reserves.
